Your account and profile
Google and Lovable Cloud handle sign-in. Your account includes your identity and email. Details you enter during setup, your starting point, interests, comfort distances, preferences, bookmarks and completed walks are saved to your account, so they follow you when you sign in on any device or web address.
Syncing and backups
Your walking profile is stored online with your account and is synced between your devices when you sign in. A copy is also kept in this browser, separately for each signed-in account, so the app works offline. Signing out hides that copy but keeps it on this device for your return. Avoid shared devices for personal information.
Location and other services
Location access is optional; you can enter a UK postcode instead. The app uses your starting point to find nearby places and your current location, when permitted, for walking guidance. Google Maps receives map and nearby-search locations. Postcodes.io receives postcode and reverse-location lookups; Photon receives submitted place searches and nearby coordinates; OpenStreetMap routing and Overpass receive route and comfort-check locations. Open-Meteo receives rounded starting-point coordinates for weather. These services also receive normal connection information such as your IP address and apply their own privacy policies.
Storage and retention
Your browser keeps your sign-in session and a local copy of your walking profile; your account keeps the synced copy online, and temporary search results are kept only so the app works. The account and its synced profile remain until you delete it. Service providers may retain operational records under their own policies. The app does not need continuous background location tracking.
Deletion and privacy requests
Use Delete account in Settings to remove your account and its synced walking profile online, together with the copy kept in this browser. Copies previously saved in other browsers on your other devices may remain there; clear their site data too. For access, correction, deletion or other privacy requests, contact Liam.cummins@mail.com. If you are in the UK, you can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Walking safely
Strollykin is a walking-confidence companion, not medical advice, treatment or an emergency service. Colour zones represent your chosen distances, not a route’s safety or accessibility. Maps, weather, opening information and bench or incline coverage can be incomplete or outdated. Check paths, crossings, weather and your own needs; rest or turn back whenever you need. Native map apps may choose different routes and do not guarantee the bench or incline preferences shown here. In an emergency in the UK, call 999 or 112.
